There may be injuries, accidents or equipment breakdowns. Lost your way and can’t find other people to ask for advice? <\/p>\n

    First, stop and stay calm
    <\/strong>If you find yourself lost, stop and try to stay calm. Don’t panic or try to move on, as you could just get even more lost.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    Try to locate yourself.<\/strong>
    If you have a navigator or map, use it to find your way around and find out where you are. If you don’t have a navigator or a map, try to find landmarks that you could use for navigation. A mountain or a river, for example, can help you find out where you are. <\/p>\n

    If you have a phone, you can use it as a navigator or call someone who can help you find your way back. You can also use a compass or GPS device if you have one with you.<\/p>\n

    Follow the tracks.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    If you’re not sure which way you should go, look for a path or tracks in the terrain and follow them. Mountain bikers usually leave tracks on the trails, so they can help you find your way back.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  5. \n

    Get help.
    <\/strong>If you can’t find your way back, try to find other people who can help you. If you are in the countryside, you can try to find other mountain bikers or hikers. If you are close to the road, you can try to stop passers-by and ask for help.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    It’s important to stay calm and make sensible decisions if you get lost while mountain biking. Try to avoid risky situations and don’t wander too far if you’re not sure where you are.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    If you or your cycling companion have an accident or arrive at the scene of an accident while mountain biking, you should do the following:<\/p>\n

    1. Check your own safety: if you are still cycling, slow down and make sure you park your bike safely off the road. If the accident has happened on a steep slope or other dangerous area, make sure you stay safe.<\/li>\n
    2. Quickly assess the situation and check if anyone is injured. If someone is injured, give first aid if necessary. If an accident requires professional help, call emergency number 112<\/a> and report the situation.<\/li>\n
    3. If possible, collect information about the accident, such as the exact location of the accident, the number of people injured and the type of injuries. If someone has seen the accident, ask them for information too.<\/li>\n
    4. If an accident affects your ability to return the bike to the rental company on time, for example, or if the bike you have rented is broken, please contact your rental company as soon as possible. Link to the contact page<\/a><\/li>\n
    5. Continue your journey: once you have done what you need to do, you can continue your journey, but be careful. Make sure your bike and equipment are in good condition and, if necessary, choose a new route if the accident site is dangerous.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
